Yandex Login Plugin for Joomla – Seamless, Secure, and Fully Customizable

Unlike basic social login implementations, this plugin offers advanced control over username formatting, account linking behavior, and the appearance of the login button. All features are designed in accordance with modern security standards and full compatibility with Joomla’s architecture.

Key Features:
Four username generation options:
• Full email address (e.g., user@yandex.ru )
• Local part of the email only (e.g., user)
• Unique numeric Yandex ID
• Classic “Firstname.Lastname” format (e.g., Ivan.Ivanov)

Automatic user registration: New users are seamlessly created in Joomla upon their first Yandex login—no extra steps required.
Flexible account linking: Choose whether to allow or deny Yandex logins for users whose accounts aren’t yet linked to an existing Joomla profile.
Email verification control: Decide whether to accept Yandex-verified email addresses automatically or require standard Joomla email confirmation.
Full button customization: Adjust the background and text color of the “Sign in with Yandex” button to perfectly match your site’s design.
Deployment flexibility: Enable the plugin exclusively on the frontend, only in the Joomla admin area, or on both—according to your needs.

Configuration Details:
Client ID and Client Secret
These are mandatory credentials obtained when registering your application in the Yandex OAuth system. They enable secure communication between your website and Yandex services. Integration is impossible without them.

Allow Login for Unlinked Accounts
When enabled, any visitor can log in via Yandex—even if their Yandex account isn’t yet associated with a Joomla user profile. While convenient for new users, this setting requires caution, as matching email addresses could potentially lead to unauthorized access.

Automatic Profile Creation
On the user’s first Yandex login, a new Joomla account is created automatically—no manual registration needed. The entire process happens with a single click.

Force New Account Creation
In this mode, the system ignores any existing Joomla accounts with the same email and always creates a new profile. Useful for testing or isolated environments, but not recommended for live production sites.

Skip Email Verification
If Yandex confirms the email address as valid, Joomla can bypass its standard email confirmation step. This speeds up the login process and enhances user experience.

Username Format
The plugin gives you complete control over how the username appears after login:
• Full email (e.g., ivanov@yandex.ru ) — ideal for guaranteed uniqueness
• Local part only (e.g., ivanov) — concise and readable
• Yandex numeric ID — remains unique even if the email changes
• Firstname.Lastname (e.g., Ivan.Ivanov) — the familiar default format

Button Styling
Customize the background and text color of the “Sign in with Yandex” button to blend seamlessly with your site’s visual identity. By default, the plugin uses Yandex’s official yellow-and-black color scheme, but you’re free to override it as needed.

Where to Activate the Plugin?
Choose one of three options:
• Frontend only (for regular site visitors)
• Admin area only (for editors and administrators)
• Both frontend and admin area simultaneously
